Chapter : 2

A Soft and Tender Touch

A few days later

This is a holiday for Dinu since it’s Sunday and thus he stays at home. Senthil has gone out for an official purpose and only Ganga and Dinu are at home.

A few minutes after having lunch, Ganga silently cries and it’s revealed that she’s having a stomachache. Ganga makes a phone call to Senthil who eventually picks up the call.

SENTHIL: Hello dear. Had your lunch?

GANGA: (crying) Yes. I had. You had?

SENTHIL: (looks worried) Yes. I had. Why are you crying?

GANGA: (still crying) Because I’m having a stomachache. Can you come home now?

SENTHIL: (looks sad) Sorry, dear. I can’t come home now because I’m having a meeting and I can’t leave that halfway. Maybe you can ask help from our Dinu.

GANGA: Okay. I’ll try that.

SENTHIL: Okay, Ganga. If pain persists even after that, don’t forget to call me.

GANGA: Sure.

SENTHIL: Shall I disconnect?

GANGA: Of course.

Senthil eventually hangs up the phone and concentrates on the meeting.

Meanwhile, Ganga calls Dinu who immediately approaches her and notices her crying.

DINU: Amma, what happened? Why are you crying?

GANGA: Dinu ma, your Amma is having a pain in her tummy. Can you offer some help?

DINU: (sighs and nods his head) Okay, Amma. I don’t know whether you will like my idea or not.

GANGA: (curious) What’s your idea, chellakutty?

DINU: Can you lie on the bed?

GANGA: Okay. Then?

DINU: I’ll apply oil on your tummy and massage it.

Ganga thinks for some time about whether to accept it or not from her adopted son. A few seconds later, she accepts.

GANGA: Okay, Dinu ma. I’ll go with what you suggested. You better do your best.

DINU: Of course, Amma.

Ganga ruffles Dinu’s hair. After a few seconds, Dinu rushes to the kitchen and goes to the bedroom with a bottle of gingelly oil in his hand. There, he sees Ganga lying on the bed with her pallu taken off and her whole tummy exposed.

Dinu reluctantly approaches Ganga.

DINU: WOW!!! You look so ready, Amma!!! Shall I begin?

GANGA: Of course, Dinu ma. Amma is waiting for your soft and tender touch.

Dinu fills Ganga’s deep navel with a few drops of gingelly oil and gently massages it. Ganga moans mildly and enjoys the massage by her adopted son.

Dinu is massaging using his left and right hands alternatively. But Ganga wants to feel both of his hands simultaneously.

GANGA: Dinu ma???

DINU: Yes, Amma????

GANGA: Use both of your hands simultaneously, chellakutty.

DINU: Sure, Amma.

Dinu uses both of his hands simultaneously to massage Ganga’s tummy. Ganga moans mildly and enjoys the massage.

Dinu continues to massage Ganga’s tummy using his hands for some time.

A few minutes later, Dinu’s hands are tired and he slowly pulls back. Ganga senses the hands being withdrawn from her tummy and she is disappointed.

GANGA: Dinu ma, why did you stop? I want the massage to continue.

DINU: Don’t worry, Amma. I’ll be back and continue the massage.

GANGA: Okay, chellakutty. Come fast.

Dinu goes to the garden in the backyard and comes back with a white rose in his hand. The white rose is pretty fresh and a little bit wet. He uses this white rose to massage Ganga’s tummy. Ganga enjoys this touch too and moans milder than before along with some soft chuckles.

GANGA: This feels nice, chellakutty.

DINU: Thank you, Amma.

GANGA: Welcome, chellakutty. Please continue with what you are currently doing.

DINU: Of course, Amma.

Dinu continues to caress Ganga’s tummy with the white rose and Ganga continues to enjoy this flowery touch.

After a few minutes of this soft and gentle massage, Ganga feels relieved. Dinu stops his massage, puts the white rose in the dustbin and gets back to Ganga.

DINU: Amma, please sleep for some time and the pain will slowly subside.

Dinu kisses Ganga’s forehead. Ganga chuckles at this kiss and she returns the kiss by planting one on Dinu’s forehead.

GANGA: Thank you so much, Dinu ma.

DINU: Any time for you, my beloved Amma.

Ganga’s heart melts as Dinu considers her as his “beloved Amma” and talks in a cooing tone.

GANGA: Chellakutty, it feels really good when you call me that. I simply want to feel your love.

Dinu chuckles softly and talks in a soft tone.

DINU: My beloved Amma is always welcome to feel my love without any restrictions.

Ganga giggles softly and pinches Dinu’s cheeks. Dinu enjoys this playful pinch by his adopted mom.

GANGA: Chellakutty, this is how I want you to interact with me.

DINU: Okay, Amma. That will happen for sure. Now go to sleep.

GANGA: Okay, chellakutty.

Both Ganga and Dinu kiss each other’s forehead before Dinu leaves the room. The moment Dinu leaves, Ganga slowly drifts off to sleep with a big smile on her face.

Two hours later

Ganga wakes up with her eyes wide open. She feels relieved of her stomachache and sheds tears of joy. She gets off the bed and goes to take bath.

After Ganga has taken bath, she wears another saree which was freshly washed and her navel is vividly peeking out.

She prepares ginger lemon tea for herself and she drinks it.

Now comes Dinu who just took bath after having playing outside. He’s wearing a fresh set of clothes and enters the kitchen.

Ganga smiles warmly at Dinu.

GANGA: Come here, Dinu ma.

Dinu approaches Ganga with a smiling face.

DINU: Your pain is gone?

GANGA: Yes, chellakutty. And I just drank lemon ginger tea.

DINU: Oh…Okay…That’s a good thing, Amma.

GANGA: Yes, chellakutty.

Ganga grabs Dinu’s hand and places it on her tummy, that too right on her navel and holds that hand tightly.

GANGA: Dinu ma, thank you for your willingness to help. There was no other way. That’s why I called you.

DINU: It’s okay, Amma. Offering help is not at all a bad thing. Anything and anytime for my beloved Amma.

Ganga feels immense pleasure on hearing what her beloved son just said and she chuckles softly. Dinu responds to his adopted mom’s chuckle by chuckling back.

DINU: Amma, if you need help from me, I’m always there.

Ganga is impressed by her adopted son’s willingness to help.

GANGA: Thank you, chellakutty. And I’m there for you if you need any help from me.

Ganga then cups Dinu’s face with both of his hands leading the latter to move his hand away from the former’s tummy. Ganga looks into Dinu’s eyes deeply and smiles warmly.

GANGA: Please don’t hesitate to call me for help. Do you understand, chellakutty?

Dinu grins mildly.

DINU: Yes, Amma. Definitely. We are always willing to help each other. Aren’t we?

Ganga giggles softly.

GANGA: Indeed, chellakutty. We are helping hands for each other.

Both chuckle softly and then they free from each other’s grip. Then they sit on the couch and spend the evening by watching a movie together until Senthil comes home and joins them.
